Recommended to me by a friend after they heard I'd read (and enjoyed [b:The Good Daughter|33230889|The Good Daughter (Good Daughter, #1)|Karin Slaughter|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1502131816l/33230889._SY75_.jpg|53941188]), [b:Pretty Girls|25574782|Pretty Girls|Karin Slaughter|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1432205734l/25574782._SY75_.jpg|42937661] lived up to the very little she told me. It was a disturbing, but gripping and chilling read. I could not stop listening to it. Like my friend, I wonder how the author can come up with such ideas (and how such things can happen in the world). Really, really horrible things happen (trigger warnings should be all over this book), but the delve into the human psyche was worth it for me. I'm looking for more of [a:Karin Slaughter|12504|Karin Slaughter|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1565730670p2/12504.jpg]'s books.

(4.5) Woof, this was a hard one to read, one of the first books that really made my stomach twist and turn. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. But If your thing is disturbing, then this is the book for you. This was definitely an intense page turner that kept me on the edge of my seat. If you can get past the very brutal and graphic descriptions, the story itself is fast paced, thrilling, extremely dark, but a crazy ride! I couldn’t put it down.
