I found this book dissociative, disturbing, and jarring, like a migraine dream or having a stroke. I felt distinctly uncomfortable the entire novel. I would only recommend it on the power of the author to make you feel that you have lost touch with reality.

I'm not sure what I just read, or rather what I listened to on audiobook.

The second half of this book, once it ramps up is a lot better than the beginning.
Generally, I found Adam and Lucy to be a bit unbelievable. It's never quite explained why Adam is the way he is and there is a part where the book jumps a bit in reality. This is sort of like historical fiction, which takes a lot of liberties....I've never been a big fan of the religious thriller kind of books and honestly that plotline was the least interesting to me, although it was the most developed.

I listened to this book and it kept me entertained at a point where I was driving 3 - 4 hours a day.
