The premise is fine, but I feel like all of the most boring and predictable choices were made with everything from the characters to the world building. I listened to this on audiobook and didn't care for the narrator's style, it made the already fairly whiny protagonist sound even whinier. I zoned out for chunks of the story, but the whole story was such a basic interpretation of its premise that I could just fill in the blanks of whatever I missed. YA Dystopia color-by-numbers, basically.
Moderate: Death, Genocide, Blood, and War

First book I've listened to in a while so mostly 'read' it while doing other things around the house. I did enjoy the premise but felt like it may not have been executed as well as it could have. I didn't really develop strong feelings toward the characters and certain parts felt rushed/like they could've been explored further. I also didn't really think that the ending was anything special. Certainly not a bad read (and I'm fairly happy with it since it was just something I picked up quickly from the library app) but maybe not worth the time given the quality of other available books.
