Ce livre est le plaidoyer d'un violeur pedophile. La prose romantique pourrait laisser croire que l'auteur tente de nous adoucir. Plutôt, le texte rédigé à la première personne laisse entrevoir le manque d'intérêt que porte Humbert pour Dolores, et à quelle point celle-ci est malheureuse avec lui.

The whole pedophile thing was just too much... I logically thought it was a good book, but as someone who was a victim I couldn't finish it. Maybe I'll try to finish it sometime in the future. I'm not saying it's a bad book.

I don't even know what to rate this, it certainly made me immensely uncomfortable and there were often times where the author went on a ramble. I understand the purpose of this book, I just don't know that I needed to read it to get that insight.
