This is probably the weakest book in the trilogy. I feel like the plot wasn't as exciting and nothing really happened. All the couples ended up together just as I expected and everything was wrapped up nicely with a bow. There wasn't anything exactly wrong with this one but I wasn't as invested as with the previous books. A solid read, glad I finished the trilogy but I am a bit disappointed.

I did not see that coming in the end and I just knew it had to end differently. Sad the series is over but great nonetheless! :)

it was fun to read as always but I wish there were actual consequences for their actions.

What an excellent series! I had read the first book a while ago, and while I thought it was decent then, I was really drawn in this time. I am so glad I continued on to read the rest of the series, because the characters and plot got even better. It’s so rare that a series seems to get better with each book, but Katharine McGee is an exceptional storyteller who mastered that art with these books. She kept me guessing the entire time and made me care very much about these characters. The world she built was also such a treat to step into. As someone who is working on world building in this kind of setting, it was really inspiring to see the way she envisioned this futuristic world and city. I really hope this series gets picked up by TV because the ensemble cast and the juicy drama would make for a really excellent show. I wish I could read these books for the first time again, but who knows? Maybe like the first time, after enough years have passed I’ll get to approach it fresh all over again.

RATING: 9/10

the towering sky was the thrilling, suspenseful conclusion to the thousandth floor that did a damn good job. i bought both the thousandth floor and the dazzling heights when the dazzling heights first got released, and lost my momentum when the towering sky came out. i had initially raved about how much love i had for the first 2 books to my best friend, and after she whipped through the trilogy, she insisted i find my momentum, and read the towering sky (which had been collecting dust on my bookshelf).

needless to say, this was truly a sensational book. this book really managed to paint characters in so many different ways than i thought was possible. gone are the bimbotic girls and the careless boys living in their individual bubbles of freedom and money. this book truly managed to convey their individual growth and character development, as well as mix in a little mystery, drama and romance all at the same time.

i'm really glad for each and every single one of their endings. i thought that the endings weren't your typical "happily ever after"s, and for that i am grateful. it ended in a way that i did not see coming, and for some reason, it satisfied me more than i expected it to.

i liked the pace of the book, how different characters moved at different speeds. the constant switching between different characters made the book a whole lot more intriguing and exciting. it really managed to provide the jarring contrast between the uptower people, and the downtower people.

the only thing i truly disliked was the incestuous relationship. while i understand how the incest contributed to the plot and aided in the creation of more genuine and 3D characters, i would say incest is a plot device that should be left rotting away in a corner, never to be touched.

i thought avery's ending was the most predictable. i'm glad calliope found love, watt and leda became okay again and rylin had her life back on track. it seemed like the best way for the series to come to an end, and i think i'll miss it so, very much.

This book was an amazing finish to this series. I loved all of the characters so much and I loved the way things ended. I am so glad that I listened to this series through audible. The performance was amazing.
