Very well-paced mystery with decent writing and a mediocre story and characters. If you like historical British fiction, time travel, and crime, it's an entertaining read.

I love me a good good murder mystery with women characters who refuse to conform to patriarchal standards. Really enjoyed the pacing, had a couple red herrings, and had many Bones/CSI moments. I don't really understand why Kendra had to be considered a frankenbaby or what have you, I guess to explain her extensive skillset and genetics? Seems a bit fantastic but I mean, it is fiction.
