I think this was the first piece of Native American literature I've ever read, and it was fantastic. The drawings by Momaday's father really add to the book. Blurs the lines between long-form poetry and short-form prose which I looove.

This novel is a must read in my opinion. Momaday's unique approach to writing in this book is challenging to follow at first but ultimately adds some much depth to the story. A quick read that challenges the concept of linear narratives and weaves in oral tradition with the ancestral voice.
Moderate: Animal death, Genocide, Racism, Violence, and Colonisation
