Fantastic ending to this series. Couldn’t put any of them down! This was really great. Dark as hell, but great. Check the content warnings for sure.

Definitely a fitting conclusion to The Broken Empire series. It was nice to see Jorg's transformation from the 'vilest evil scum ever existed' to just an 'evil scum' :D It had several oh shit! moments just like in previous books and the ending was perfect imo. Best one in the trilogy for me.

Although it took me so long to read and I felt little curiosity how it would end until middle of it, I have to say it did build up. There were so many loose ends and would they tie up? I, then, wanted to know. Well, the resolution of it all was way more spectacular and unforeseen than I ever imagined, and a total plot twist, and that’s why this one merits the highest score of the three books.
I don’t know why he wanted to be emperor, besides the fact that people didn’t want him to, I don’t know why he would be king, besides a result of vengeance, but I can’t say it was ever boring to follow Jorg in his travels and misdeeds along the Broken Empire, and have it end this way was beyond perfect, it just matched my reasoning for him and his deeds and wills.
This is what a great ending can do, change your perspective of everything you read before, or better yet, give the right glasses to see clearer into the past, the hindsight.
Not the most recommendable read, as it took me a long time (unusual for me) to read the series and to feel motivated to finish this last book, although the second was pretty intense and difficult to put down, but if the blurb pulls you in and my reviews don’t scare you away, here it is for you reading pleasure the story of Honorous Jorg, the boy caught in the thorns.
