There were good parts too this book, and a great semiredemption arc for Jorg. However, I did not like the flashbacks to the south, it created too much confusion, and to be honest, did not care about what happened in the flashbacks, but the main storyline was very intriguing, but sooo dark, while I liked it, would not recommend for a person starting mark Lawrence, I would say that the book of the ancestor, (Red Sister) is a thousand times better
