Definitely a challenging read and one that I'm sure I would gain much from by a second read, but that is unlikely to happen in the near future! I am glad to have finally read it after seeing it on book lists for years.

I’m glad I read this and it would be super interesting to study as an English Lit student perspective or a general British History perspective but it definitely took some perseverance to get through the slower bits. I think reading it over a shorter period of time would have helped me stay more engaged.
