Suffered a bit from the usual “second book slump” plot wise but I’m still definitely reading #3

You know when you finish a book and you just don’t know how to move on to the next? That’s me right now after finishing this book. I remember looking at how many pages I had left and realizing that there’s too much left to happen that will not fit in the pages that are left! I did not want the story to end.

I love the forbidden attraction between Cyrus and Alizeh. And I love how even though I love that, I also hope that she and Kamran end up together.

I love the alliance that Alizeh created just by being kind to them - Omid, Deen, and Huda, and throw in Hazan and Kamran too!

I really just want to continue to be in that world and unfortunately it’s over for now. I’m usually late to a series and can read them all to the finish line. I hate that I’m early to this party! Lol

Here are my anticipations for the next books:

-Why the gold in Kamran’s skin changed.
-Why Cyrus made the deal with Iblees.
-The reunion between Kam and Ali (obvi)
-What’s in the f**** book!!!?
-The coming war…or not…?

Thank you Mrs Mafi for this wonderful story and I cannot wait to read more.

3.5!

While her writing has remained lovely in this book, the fact that this whole book took place in one day was a little meh. It felt like very little happened.

Despite that, I did enjoy the interactions between Alizeh and Cyrus. They were funny, ridiculous, and entertaining. Kamran was going THROUGH it this book and I felt so bad for him. The group of hooligans are hilarious and I love them, I need more of them. Hazan, I adore you.

I'm intrigued to see how book three will go! I hope Cyrus gets a POV.

Fabulous! Magic, kings, Jinn and so much more. It kept me on the edge of my seat and once again, ended in a cliff-hanger. Can’t wait to read the next one when it comes out in 2024!

Wow.... the first book I felt a little disconnected to the characters but after this one I'm obsessed! The mystery surrounding Cyrus is intriguing and the enemies to lovers is so well written! Cyrus had me blushing with his candor and I can't imagine what's going to happen in the 3rd book. I feel either way I'm going to be heartbroken, impatiently waiting for Feb 2024!!!!

3.5 rounding down. Definitely getting interesting. Wonder how it's going to wrap up... though I just found out it's supposed to be 5 books. Sigh.
