3.5* Another Kinsey Milhone. I always enjoy her mysteries. But this one had the lame ending of woman following up on murderer in the dark, alone, having alerted murderer, and told no one where she is. Why do mysteries with women protagonists always fall back on this ploy to develop suspense at the end?

The third installment of the Kinsey Millhone series had a slow start for me. It felt as if we didn't get to the true mystery/case of the book until halfway through and the end felt overly rushed. I didn't feel there was enough of the puzzle solving, interviewing of characters, or other fun PI shenanigans we have gotten used to with the two previous books in the series. Bobby was an intriguing character that even with his character flaws had me rooting for him. Though I do wish there had been more of Rosie and Henry in this book. It won't stop me from continuing on in the series, but it won't be a favorite.

I really enjoyed this. The best of the series so far. Despite her saying that Bobby was dead in the first page, I was still upset when it actually happened.
