Definitely the weakest in the mixed messages series.

Clear case of lack of communication between 2 friends that are in love.

I actually like friends to lovers quite a bit, but this one was sooooo long and drawn out and, frankly, kinda boring. So, I'm lowering my rating from 3.5 to 2.5.

I must have really been reading quickly the first time, bc the audiobook (and I love the narrator, he did the best he could - 4 stars for him) just draaaagged. I remembered the first two books much more clearly, but with this one I didn't have clear memories of what happened. Maybe because, nothing much does? Also, Henry is VERY DENSE for a top family lawyer.

I tried to space out these re-reads, but this one really showed the linguistic quirks, phrases used over and over across three books and wore me down. The moues of disgust and fulminating glares hovering above the immaculately boring outfits that must always be described, just, it was a lot.

I will go on to read Vow Maker soon (which was the whole reason I embarked on this series re-read) bc I most valued my experience with Rule Breaker. I really appreciated Gabe more the second time around. But I should've stopped after Deal Maker, sad to say.

This was a good book, a nice end to the series. It was very heartwarming and mushy. I think that my issue with this one is that it was a bit melodramatic. The romance was sweet, but there were so many times that I wanted to shake some sense into them.

Overall, a good read. Not my favourite of the trilogy, though.

Another wonderful story from Lily Morton. Must say I prefer the first two books in the series, but I love Henry and especially Ivo.

Hurray for therapy! I thought this was a sweet story about two people who are finally finding their way to each other and I was super pleased that Ivo was putting in the work to deal with his issues and not just magically healed by Henry’s love.
