Plot: Constant action. Mystery. Betrayal (maybe? lol). What else could you possibly want?! The Scorch Trials follows in The Maze Runner footsteps with the suspenseful story telling and oh-my-goodness moments. James Dashner captivates you in the story right away and keeps you guessing the whole way....

Just finished this, and I have to say that I'm actually disappointed. I really enjoyed The Maze Runner but this wasn't anywhere nearly as good. It feel like its just an extension of the questions from the precious book without any real answers. The added characters seemed pointless, perhaps that will be elaborated on in the future. If nothing else Dashner does a really good job of leaving us in the dark, we know basically everything that Thomas does. so I applaud him for that. Hopefully the next book is better

wow this read was worth it. i did go and see this movie before (i know, i am ashamed). when i saw the movie i decided that i was going to read the series and im glad i decided to pick these books up.

we get introduced to many new characters
this whole book had action, adventure and betrayal. this has to be one of my favorite squeals to a book.

I'm not even sure the author knows where the story/characters are going...

I really liked this book, except for the fact I kept thinking what else can happen to these kids??! And it just keeps coming and coming and coming - really how much more can a kid go through and still keep on fighting?? That being said, I'm ready to read the next one - gotta see if it's all been worth it!!

I'm very confused about what is happening right now. I have NO idea what is going to happen in the next book. I think this book is in between a 3.5 and 4 stars. I had no idea what is going to happen in this. Really, I'm surprised.

Ages 11+ (death, death, death)

More mind games, harrowing battles, and plenty of gore make this a worthy successor to The Maze Runner. The action picks up right where it left off with very little recap, so make sure you've read the first book before picking this one up.
