The writing style was just too light and cliche. I gave up at 10%.

Ew

Poor writing style and strange plot line. This book was unimpressive and confusing. I definitely won’t read book two. 2 stars.

A good continuation of the series; however, I was confused for the later portion of the book and did not like the odd, abrupt ending.

It was an OK read. The premise is fun and interesting, but I think the writing style felt a little underwhelming. The characters could use a lot more development. There was room since it was such a short book. Could easily be added. The way the plot happened just wasn't very believable at the end. She solves a 20+ year problem after finding out she was a witch for less than a week?

Not sure about picking up the next one yet. We'll see.

Editing was a nightmare in this one.

I picked this up because a) it was free and b) it had an interesting description and c) I wanted to knock off one of my witchy read challenge books for 2015.

The story is pretty simple: A group of witches discovers a prophecy that a comet will announce the coming of the new Queen of All the Witches of the World. The comet arrives and about the same time, Kim shows up with her four year old daughter.

Unaware of the prophecy or her role in it, Kim is startled to find her wishes coming true.

I found the writing very simple and the characters kind of flat. I wanted more internal dialogue. It seemed that she accepted things much too easily. It's clearly meant as the first book of a series, but it stands on its own as well. I doubt I'll be reading any follow-up books.

What even is this book? There is no clear point of view, it changes from character to character even within a chapter. Badly written I'm afraid.

Book about a young single mother moving to a new town, and finding that she is not only a witch, but has been declared a witch queen.

This was #1 in a series, may be worth continuing (if books are cheap). I didn't get so enamored that I'll want to spend much on the next one(s).
