Trigger warnings for City of Glass include: homophobia and hate crimes; incest (except not quite), sexual assault, child abuse (recounted),domestic violence recounted, hallucinations,
graphic suicide & self harm recounted; pregnancy & childbirth mentioned; blood & gore depiction, including blood-drinking. Physical injuries,
dead bodies and medical content;
forced starvation; grief & loss depiction; deaths, murder & attempted murder; knife violence & stabbing; torture, poisoning, kidnapping and imprisonment; war themes & battle scenes.

I wasn't really paying a great deal if attention to this book as I was listening to it quite honestly. I've read this one before, and therefore already knew the major plot points before they happened. For the most part there weren't really any surprises in it, except for a few scenes I'd forgotten happened.
~
I'm glad I reread it because I do like this series but ultimately I just needed to read it to be able to get on to other books in this series I haven't read yet or don't remember all that well, like The Dark Artifices series.
~
As sad as this book might be for someone reading it for the first time, I didn't really feel any kind of emotions towards the events of the book despite knowing those things are sad things to have happened. And I don't know how to feel having finished the 3rd book in the main Mortal Instruments series.

Loved the epic battle scenes and the descriptions. Maybe a little hard to get into at first

So much action! Also just when you thought you have the whole story about Jace and Clary straight, yet another plot twist shows up. Or two. I look forward to where we go from here.

Slow book to start but then really picked up. Mainly building the story and then plenty of detail once the scene was set. Get through the first section and then it really heats up! Plot twists galore!

I have so much to say...

First of all, I hate Clary as a character. She really shouldn't be the protagonist of this series. There are no redeemable qualities about her. The only reason why I'm still reading this series (and will finish it) is that I already have all the books.

Second of all, the fact that all it took for
SpoilerJocelyn to come back is a book
is ridiculous to me. Saving her mother was Clary's #1 priority during the series so far. However, all that we see is
SpoilerClary giving the book to Magnus, and then Jocelyn's back
... It feels like it was the simplest things in the world, but I clearly remember people saying no one knows
Spoilerwhat Jocelyn took, and how to wake her up
. I guess, if we got Magnus' POV
Spoilerof trying to make everything work
, I wouldn't be so disappointed, but here we are.

Third of all, we never actually get to see what happens to
SpoilerIzzy
. All we get is that
SpoilerSebastian is holding a hammer
, then it fades to black. The next time we see her? She seems completely fine physically,
Spoilercrying over Max's body
. We only find out what actually happened from Simon over 70 pages later! But by far the best part about it is that she was supposed to be
Spoilerknocked out WITH A HAMMER
, but at no point do we get any kind of description of
SpoilerIzzy feeling unwell or dizzy, being hurt, bleeding, or anything else
. It's like it never happened.

Next thing: not much actually happens. There's so little plot... within over 500 pages the only things that actually happen are:
Spoiler1. Clary finding that book, and giving it to Magnus. 2. The towers stop working. 3. A 10-minute battle. 4. A party.

But I'm actually glad I read this book cause we got a lot of Jimon moments, so there's that 😁

La verdad que el libro me terminó gustando muchisimo más de lo que me gustaba. Amo la evolución de casi todos los personajes, más que nada la de Jace.
Saber que todavía me quedan el 4to y 5to por leer me dan ganas de llorar.
