This book absolutely needs no introduction and there isn't much I could say that would do this book justice. I was expecting it to be very dark and heavy material, and there is certainly a lot of that. However, what I found most interesting is Anne's musings of her teenage years and her descriptions of her own behaviour and character. I thought they added a great dimension to the diary.

I also listened to this version by Helena Bonham Carter who really brought Anne to life. She reads it so appropriately and it made it such an immersive experience.

I wish I had read this book as a teenager. As an adult, I still consider it an essential read, but this is the diary of a teenage girl, with all the moodiness, conflict, and curiosity that entails. Had I read it as a teenager, I feel like it would have resonated with me in a different way.

I loved it! Such a unique look into someone's, but especially a young struggling girls (or women's like how she felt it) mind. things and time are so different, yet the emotions and experience are so the same. Things almost every girl growing up feel, but never says or even sometimes dares to think of, she wrote down and expressed so purely and real (not knowing others would read it). It gives room to think all the while reading on the state of self, families, groups, Country's and cultures, without being imposing or philosophical. I would recommend it to anyone, but especially to other girls/women who feel trapped or stuk what ever situation or place.

Very interesting and very sad especially the afterword. I learned and read parts of this in school, but never the whole thing. I do have to say don’t go into this expecting like an action packed diary because it’s not it’s this poor girls diary where she shared her preteen/teenage thoughts.

It was good, but it went real slow. It was boring in between and sometimes there were entries which meant nothing at all. It was too relatable at times and it felt good that someone, doesn't matter if so many years ago, had opinions like me and who felt like I do at times. A typical teenager. It was good, but not something you would like to re-read or will have fun and real good time reading.
