I liked the anecdotes and the appendix is useful, but I was expecting it to have more guidance on changing habits and developing good ones. The explanation of just how much of our lives are governed by habit was extremely interesting.

First half on understanding habit loop and individual habits was the most helpful.

Mostly anecdotes with a tiny sprinkle of action steps. I definitely went into this expecting something a bit different. But this was just research story after research story. For habit steps, read Atomic Habits.

If you’re comparing this book & Atomic Habits (which references this book) I’d put this book in the nonfiction & the latter in self help. This book had lots of interesting stories about individuals & companies and their habits, but the other book helps you really implement those strategies.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. However, Duhigg (almost) didn't repeat himself, his real-life examples were interesting and the whole thing was just solid, informative and very readable. I would probably rate it higher if it wasn't for poor Polish translation.
