SpoilerWhere were Billy’s parents??? Did he just go home that first night like “oh yeah by the way I made friends with a giraffe, a monkey, a pelican, and the duke. And now I own a sweet shop.” Like mate you are a CHILD. I think if my kid came up to me saying that I’d have them admitted.

Also, is the Billy from this book who owns the sweet shop (and is sent Wonka sweets) the same Bill who owns the sweet shop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? If so that’s really cool.

A lovely little story for children filled with wonder and magic. Will definitely keep this for the children to read.
