hilariousmae's review against another edition
A novel that feels like a group of connected short stories. This meant that it was easy to skip chapter 14 when an ableist slur was used repeatedly. I would have given Medicine River five stars if it wasn't for that chapter.
Graphic: Ableism

I wish I could live in Medicine River with this cast of characters Thomas King has created. He is one of my favourite authors and I find so much humour and love for human beings in his work. I love the cyclical, circling nature of his writing.
Minor: Ableism
You will find an ableist slur used in this that was more common in the past.
