Darling, light read! I wasn’t as connected to the book by the end as I would have wished, but I love how the novel was more about Greta James’ relationship with her dad than it was her romantic interests, despite the quirky rom-com vibes. The addition of Greta’s “rock star career” gave the book some fun depth.

Beautiful writing and great relationship development between the main characters. I enjoyed the pace and story elements a lot too. The only thing I didn’t like was that it didn’t make me feel strong emotions like I expected to with a book about the main character greiving the death of their mom. Still, it was very sweet and hopeful.

Looks like the new trend in book industry is for YA authors to write Adult books, but, hey, I'm not complaining.

I went into this book thinking it was about the woman on the titanic and other sunken ships that kept surviving but I was wildly wrong 😅

Once I wrapped my brain around what was going on, this was a very sweet book. It hit too close to home for me to love but it was still an enjoyable read!

I found parts of it painfully predictable but even when things went just as I expected, the writing was so well done it was worth it.

4/5, if there’s another book in this series I’ll definitely read it!!

This book caught me by surprise because while the description wasn't totally calling me. I ended up thoroughly enjoying this read - the story of Greta, a successful guitarist and musician, who joins her father on an Alaskan cruise, taking the place of her late mother, who died unexpectedly.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Greta's difficult relationship with her father unfold, the unlikely romance that she found on the boat, and her return to music and herself. I also enjoyed the peek into Alaska through the breathtaking descriptions of the scenery and cruise. This book was unlike anything I've read lately and I recommend it!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for sharing this gifted review copy with me.

I thought this book was okay. It was written pretty well, a bit one dimensional but I kept finding myself a bit annoyed that the premise was about a daughter and her father re-consoling their relationship after the mother dies and she does everything but ignore and avoid her father the entire time. She is so focused on this random relationship with a stranger on the ship that she really only sees her dad two or three times the entire cruise. It seems incredibly selfish and kind of misses the point of her taking this trip. I also thought it was super rude that every time her dead moms best friend was like “come spend time with me” she said No.
