Dark. Darkity dark dark dark. Even for a book about a PI trying to track down a child prostitute, this is dark, which is a sentence I never thought I'd type.

Deeply engaging and page-turning, overall, and I really like our flawed English doctorate P.I., too. Two problems, though:

1) Jessica, the 13-year-old sidekick, consistently sounded about twenty-four. As did Aurora, at a supposed seventeen.
2)
SpoilerSo, Marco told Grist everything about the operation under duress, after vowing never to tell, and DESPITE BEING PART OF THE OPERATION? No, that didn't happen. It just didn't. Because it made no sense.

But good, despite making you want to throw up in a bucket.
