Guh, have tissues. Such a powerful memoir. I love Raskin's spirit and the way he talks about his beloved son. I am thankful he is in office fighting for our democracy.

It is interesting to hear the story of January 6 and it’s aftermath from the lead impeachment manager.

It is heartbreaking to listen to how this all unfolded for him with the death of his son on New Year’s Eve.

I think the best politicians are those that draw on experiences that make them empathetic leaders. Those that lead from a place of the heart and not mind.

Wow! This book is so inspiring and moving! The way that Representative Raskin told the horrifying story of January 6th and the impeachment trials of President Trump through the heartwrenching lens of his son Tommy who committed suicide only a few days before the insurrection was incredibly done and completely wrecked me. He told the story with such emotion and somehow wrote a hope-filled book about the worst time in his life. This is an incredible book and a must-read for anyone interested in modern politics!

Frustrated that the race element of Jan. 6 was only really noted in the epilogue, but other than that, it was pretty perfect. I was moved from an intellectual, spiritual and above all emotional level.

This is probably one of those few political books that felt perfect in humility, humanity, and realism that doesn’t make me fall into my cynical way of thinking.

A heartbreaking retelling of a Congressman's experience through the darkest days as a father, a patriot, and a human being.
The story weaves the incomprehensible convergence of a man's loss of his son to suicide followed only days later by his being under siege at insurrection at the Capitol and Congressman Raskin's integral involvement in the impeachment trial.
This book inspires a range of strong emotion in the reader, no more so than utter sorrow. But there is also joy, humor, and hope for the future.
