Really enjoyed the first half, but after the time jump it felt like two different books.

I’m going to be honest - I did not expect to enjoy, or even like this book.
However from the very first chapter I was hooked. This was enchanting and such a special read.
The first 100 pages had me crying, and I just couldn’t get enough of this book.
I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is that made this book so good, but my goodness I urge you to read it and discover it for yourself.
The imagery throughout this book, of Australian native flowers, and the Australian outback, were so well done.

This is QBD’s Book of The Month for April and I am so excited to have the opportunity to share such a wonderful book.
Maybe one day I’ll formulate my thoughts enough to give a proper summary of this book, but for now, let’s just say that this is amazing.

A beautiful story, but I wanted a little more back story and character development. It wasn’t completely lacking and there were enough questions answered in the end, but this could have been a much richer story and longer book than it was.

Oooof I'm sorry - this didn't land for me.
I was hooked from the first line but a lot of the prose began to feel forced for me.
Obsessed with the flower elements.
Maybe I'll pick up again and love.

I really enjoyed this book. While it definitely isn’t perfect, I was in for the ride when I began reading it and thought the way the story of generational trauma and reliving past stories was interesting. I am very moved by this story and while I don’t usually cry when I read, this book makes me want to. I’d recommend it.
