DNF. I'm not into stories that have violence against animals. Hard trigger stop.

The Thing meets It meets Sphere, in the pit-of-your-stomach way that Cutter does so, so well.

There were a few good stretches in this book, but so many scenarios repeated over and over and I'm also not a fan of animal torture, which happens repeatedly.

Slow beginning, great middle, really disappointing ending.
Just after a point it was no longer scary and more just a bad clusterfuck of a bunch of random things. I was expecting the ambrosia to be more involved with the plot but it kinda just got forgotten and the 'gets was barely anything too, just a cause for an effect, which i guess isn't bad per-say but i was really expecting more.
I guess one good thing about it was it was such a quick read for me lol.
Wouldn't recommend ):

I really enjoyed most of it. It was super-gory and a lot of these scenes seemed gratuitous. I actually skipped a few pages when it got unbearable. But the plot was cool and got me thinking about what goes on in the sea 8 miles down.

Don’t mind me, still on my quest to find a Nick Cutter book that makes me forget the turtle. (I’m not letting that go! Ever!!)
