This was beautiful.

A bit over my head, but still beautiful.

So sad, yet so hopeful. A story of a doctor who became a lung cancer victim.

There was an in there about science versus religion that I’m going to have to go back and re-read because I don’t think I agreed with it at all. However, it was another of those great reads that gave me lots to think about.

I don’t think it’s fair to critique this work in the same way one might critique other memoirs, whose authors have the time, energy, and capacity to polish and refine their work to a finely chiseled masterpiece. The manuscript’s state is, in itself, a reflection of the larger intended message. For that alone, I think this book is beautiful and meaningful and worthy of your time.

This book is a lovely memoir and captures the challenges of transitions from doctor to patient both physically and mentally. A lovely depiction of his life and thought-provoking.

It is such a witty and thought-provoking memoir of a former MD and his blight with lung cancer. His meticulous recording of the events and style of his writing captures the all too familiar fear of death. It's refreshing to read something that is written by a physician and uses the medical jargon that those in the healthcare field understands. Such a bittersweet story...
