It’s my favorite book, I have this thing, I finish my most adored books in four days. This book was one of them, I was in a dark place, reading this made me sulk even more but it made it way more enjoyable. Definitely should give this book a try .

A burned out academic star who doesn't know what she wants in this world, as she realizes that she’s burnt out, that her millions of figs have been squashed, she loses all her senses and goes mad…Or at least that’s what people think. I don’t think she was originally going mad but as a burnt out student she saw no purpose in doing what she liked most - writing - and by not writing and by trying to tell people her thoughts they make her go mad because they don’t listen. Esther Greenwood and aspiring writer a young women stuck in her own bell jar, hid away from the world because he’s too dangerous for herself, a young women who was not free until she fought the worst of it, was free in the end. When she survived? When she had her last shock? Or when the ward realized she was far from hope and made the final decision? The Bell Jar left me thinking what happened to Esther. Is she alive or dead? Because it just ends off like that. No explanation. Was the “bad dream” her mom said a goodbye to her daughter? Or a welcoming?

And because of that I was utterly confused. I rate it a 4/5 because as confusing as it was, that component did keep you on edge waiting for more. But the missing point was only because it got too confusing with all the time jumps and all. But overall a good book, keeps you thinking what really happened.

Strašně dobrý to bylo. Rozhodně jsem ji nečetla naposledy. Jen si teď musím trochu utřídit myšlenky, abych o té knížce zvládla nějak rozumně mluvit.
