haunting, graphic, and so important. I don’t care what people say, I think this was an incredibly brave thing for Ernaux to publish at the height of her literary career and gives voice to many with similar experiences.

Really great knowing that my country has decided that abortions are no longer okay 🙃.  just such a comforting feeling, isn’t it??? I hope pro-life people understand that outlawing abortion doesn’t make it less common, it just makes it incredibly dangerous.

Everything in this book made me feel anxious. Parts of it were sickening and horrible. Still, I feel like this book is so important, the experience of illegal abortion, everything that comes with it, anxiety, complications and even death, and why the right to choose is so so important.
