Gutwrenching. A story that hangs painfully between life and death.

I feel like the word unflinching is thrown around a lot when talking about books but this one really deserves it. Ernaux is clear and determined in the way she examines and shares her experiences, the way she reaches her “true purpose…for my body, my sensations and my thoughts to become writing.”

i am at a loss for words. this book provides the grotesque and raw narration of what it means to be a woman. it did trigger me at times but i enjoyed it alot.
