4.5

i knew the plot twist was coming, but with the way it was executed, i wasn’t mad when i got to it—if anything, i was interested to see where it would go from there.
the coma part definitely caught me off guard, but all the scenes from then on were great. and at the end where airi comes in and does the same move she pulled on the manager earlier? incredible, amazing, show stopping, never done before. if i start talking about the teacher, i just know i’m going to go on and on, so i’m just going to say that from the moment i noticed him tapping constantly on the steering wheel, i figured something was up. his helpful nature and charisma definitely amplified my suspicion, too. as i said earlier, though, when it was confirmed, i wasn’t mad that that was the route the book was going in; instead, i’m really curious to see how the rest of the series will play out, especially with kenya now an official part of searching for the killer (which, by the way, the fact that they still haven’t caught him is beyond insane and pretty bonkers).
the killer’s background was really interesting, and i liked that it was intertwined in the middle of this volume, which is why i rated it higher than the previous two. i need to start reading the next volumes before i shit myself.
