The writing was beautiful, and the threads of family, disconnection, heritage were strongly coloured, as well as going through grief and sexual violence. I strongly relate to the reflections on cultural heritage of a second generation immigrant: not knowing the language, feeling like a stranger in your homeland, meeting your relatives that stayed.
