I love a good figure skating m/m romance, and this was a good one. Loved the epilogue of where they ended up.

DNF’d || the writing was too cheesy and cliche. There were phrases that got repeated a lot so I couldn’t continue it.

Okay, so the largest reason I like this book so much is that it's clearly (to my eye) fanfiction with the numbers filed off. Like, I am super proud of the author for remembering to change all the names in the document in the editing process.

I do like the story itself - I don't want to make this sound like it's all and only about the fanfic. But it was amusing and delightful to see fanfic 'in the wild', as it were.

I liked a lot that the two characters were both given actual different personalities, and that they're both flawed (for real, rather than for fake. No, 'being clumsy' isn't a flaw, it's just a fact of life.) Sometimes people talk too much, sometimes they're too stuck in their own head and don't talk enough. These are realistic flaws, and the characters have to deal with them in realistic ways.

Weirdly, I don't like many of the author's other books, but this one's great!

This was an adorable Yuri on Ice troupe.

Henry & Theo

Henry and Theo are rivals in the world of men’s skating. While Henry is technically focussed and serious, Theo is an undisciplined natural talent with charm and a light sense of humour.

When they train together, they share vulnerabilities through Theo losing his former coach and Henry working through a past trauma.

I love the skating details, the Toronto setting, and Theo’s cliched overbearing mother.

Great read.

I loved it!
Also finally a mlm sport romance book where the sport isn't a huge masculinist hell, YES!
