I was intrigued by this being considered a classic in gay literature but unfortunately I don't think it's for me. I just found the story quite boring

This is undeniably a sad book, but it just grabbed my heart from the first chapter and would not let go. David and Giovanni are flawed people, but I can't help but still root for them, even if we're told from the onset that it's an unhappy ending.
