Michael x Elsie - she (and her friends) have been trafficked for 9 years and she finally has an opportunity to escape, and takes it - not knowing how that choice would change her life forever. After being found, they come to an agreement, and she marries Michael and tries to find any way to help her friends escape. Elsie grows attached to Michael's daughter and slowly begins to trust Michael as well.

the marriage of convenience the forced proximity the touch her and die vibes alllllllll the boxes got checked, AND IT WAS MAFIA!!! 🥵 I absolutely loved the relationship Michael and Elsie have. The little found family trope within was an added bonus. I love how he helped Elsie deal with her trauma and reconnect with her family. I didn’t even mind the 3A break up. I ate up every second of this book. I cried when Elsie got reunited with her parents and how protective she became of Sophia and watching Sophia fall in love with Elsie. Seeing Michael, Sophia and Elsie become a family chefs kiss. AND THE SPICE! 10/10 

P.S the bond that Sophia and Michael have was adorable and also seeing how Michael hated the scar he got from saving Sophia but Elsie loves it.
