Sinful Vows builds on other characters in the Cavaleri Brothers series. Michael is part of the Messina crime family, and they are also not like the Bianchi’s who kidnap and traffic women. He attends a meeting where Agnelo Bianchi is supposed to meet him in a house where some of the trafficked women are kept and sold to men who want to hurt them. Michael sees two women in the window and one of them catches his attention.

Elsie is one of the women he sees in the window. She and Kayla and Jade were kidnapped bye the Bianchi’s 9 years ago and she hasn’t lost all of her fight yet. They’ve made her do things that she would never do by holding the threat of harm to Jade and Kayla over her head. She would never, willingly, let them be hurt. The day she looks in the Michael Messina’s eyes when he arrives at the house she’s being kept in, she gets an idea to escape. She can’t, however, talk Kayla into going with her. Kayla tells her to go and come back for her. Elsie sneaks into the car that Michael Messina is driving that day, and it sets off a whole new set of circumstances for her that she can’t escape.

Does she want to escape??? That’s why you need to read this! It is a well-written, wonderfully told story of a family struggling within (which is a whole other twist in this book), and a young woman who has been used and abused for many years, who finds herself in a place where she doesn’t know if she wants what’s offered to her. It’s a fantastic story… and you’ll love it.

Sinful Vows - Messina Crime Family #1

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Where do I even begin with this review because WOW. I am obsessed with this book!

This was my first ever mafia romance book and I must say that it definitely started my addiction to read mafia romance tropes! I was hooked from chapter one and while reading the growth between Elsie and Micheal’s relationship considering they were in a forced marriage/marriage of convenience, I found it hard to put the book down! When I had a moment to do something else, my mind wouldn’t stop thinking about this book

Wow what a intense read. This is a new author for me and I’m loving the work of this twisted story. The plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a dark mafia read and has many twists and turns that will suck you right in. This is the first of this series and can’t wait for the next book.

Elsie and Michael. Elsie was taken by smex traffickers and has been in their clutches for years. When she see an opportunity to escape she takes it but her friend Kayla refuses to leave. Hiding in the back of Michaels car she hopes she has a chance to get to the authorities so that she can find her friend again. Instead, Michael convinces her to become his wife for a year so he can secure his place and take over the mafia from his father. Michael has been a single father to his daughter, Sophia, after he saved her from a burning building. He doesn’t want a wife, but in order to get the loyalty of his men from his father he has to prove he can be trusted. When Elsie falls into his lap, he is determined not to fall for her, but when he sees how hard her life has been and how she treats his daughter he can’t help but be tempted.

The audiobook for this was phenomenal. Both narrators did an amazing job. I was absorbed in the story the moment I started the book. Between the characters, the narrators, and the story itself I was addicted to the story. I am really interested in the next book in the series with Raph and Nicolette. AND Gio’s story. I’m excited. This book is dark but not too dark. Elsie has been through a lot before this and after going through what she has gone through there are moments in the book when she re lives those things. Regardless, this is an amazing book and it is worth the read/listen.
