Weird Detective is solid and though the transition from volume 4-5 is a little rough, the art and story arc more than make up for the flawed conclusion.
This is a step in the right direction and it is definitely laying the groundwork for something bigger in the future.
Good for Lovecraft fans.

NYPD detective Sebastian Green is weird indeed. Most of his colleagues chalk up his weirdness to their belief that he is Canadian. What is revealed during his investigation of some truly horrific and grisly murders makes for a good read, especially for readers who enjoy H.P. Lovecraft.

This is one of my hidden gem findings. The impressions that I got from cover arts and other brief info were: dark urban fantasy, mystery plots, horror, and conspiracies. But surprisingly, there are some funny moments, and this comic is not as gory as I expected.

I don't want to spoil much, I hope you enjoy the story as I did.

Van Lente does a fine job writing and the art is a good tonal math. But no matter how intersting the premise sounds, Lovecraftian mythos arent really my thing.

A truly pleasant surprise: this book is weird in the best ways possible. I'd love to see more comics like this one out there.
