I am just one of those people who love Christina Lauren. They are an amazing duo. I loved all their books but Something Wilder has stuck with me.
I also appreciate how this one has some mystery in it and it just wasn't a love story. Death, mystery, love, and treasure make this an exceptional read. This was one of my favorite Christina Lauren's books.

I loved every second of this!! I imagine if adventure stories weren’t my thing I’d be disappointed, but as I do love them, I was pleasantly surprised!! This read like a late 90s overly dramatic adventure rom-com. They mention “Romancing the Stone” in the acknowledgment, but I’d also add some good old Matthew McConaughey in the mix.

City slickers + Indians Jones + a love story = an easy summer read. This book has the feeling of a b-adventure rom com from the 90s IN THE BEST WAY. Light, fluffy, lots of tropes. The biggest thing that bugged me was that I never really bought the romance between our two protagonists, especially why they were estranged.

This was good, and different! You can tell when an author puts real effort into their romance having a good plot vs. cobbling the plot together solely to drive the romance, and this one definitely delivered on that front.

I actually thought this storyline was super fun but I hated that the main character was so bitter then when she FINALLY came around to the love rekindling, they got taken advantage of

As I’m soon taking a trip to Utah’s National Parks, I enjoyed the setting descriptions and there was one twist I didn’t see coming. But they really lost me when ::gasp:: it turns out that her father devised for her a series of puzzles and riddles leading to treasure that only she can decipher. It’s obnoxiously unrealistic how difficult the puzzles would have been to solve in real life and a really played out trope. This ended up being just okay.

I did really enjoy this book, but the twists were just so weird! I thought it was going to be a second chance romance while a bunch of guys had fun on a vacation, but NO, there were hidden treasures and hostages and DEATH, and it was NOT what I was expecting, nor what I wanted. Mid book but it did make me squeak a few times so 3 stars
