Worth a read, well written and the author did an amazing job as the narrator as well. I don't know if the discussion between David and his wife at the end of the book is included in the physical book but that part was also very interesting.

This one was so hard to listen to. This man is a surgeon who mainly works as a volunteer in the war zones. And the things he describes he saw really make you feel sick because humans can be just vile. From kids in Africa coming to him pregnant from being raped and that one girl that was 12 I believe and pregnant with the dead baby that was already starting to decompose inside her and them having to use huge pliers to pinch the baby's head crushing it's skull so they can save the mother's life to a sick game snipers played where they randomly picked a certain group of people and shot at them - the worst being a pregnant mother who got shot in the abdomen and the bullet shattered her womb meaning that she won't be able to bear any more children and her unborn baby being shot straight through the head - that one made me tear up. He did so much good and saved so many people's lives by pushing and insisting on surgeries that saved their limbs instead of amputating and he is just a good guy all around. The book did start to slightly drag towards the end but it was still a darn good read that really makes you think about the things that we usually overlook and forget.

Very interesting description of Syria, Gaza, Sudan in particular.  I did not find the author to be a nice person. Clearly he did a lot of good but also thinks a lot of himself, and his attitude to women is terrible (they are either described as hysterics or mother figures)
