Was definitely an interesting story, and feels like it should have its own short series on Netflix. Only lost me as the some pieces felt a bit too unreal, and some of the writing felt a bit cheesy but very good overall.

Great concept. The way it was written made it easy to follow. The plot wasn’t very exciting, as I already had a hunch pretty early on. But nevertheless a great read.

the plot was interesting and some of the characters were fine (minus the cartoon-esque villains) but nothing Hooked me, really. I did like how they kept bringing up stranger things though. I bet kylie loves nancy wheeler

“Life is fragile, fleeting and precious. And to live at all is miracle enough.”

It’s easy...Follow The Chain and you get your kid back. Pay the ransom. Find another target and kidnap someone. The Chain continues. Each link in The Chain is precious. The Chain has to go on. No police! Whatever you do, Don’t Break The Chain! The Chain has never been successfully broken.

Adrian McKinty didn’t waste time. From page one, this is a fast-past thriller, filled with action, tension and fear. I wasn’t sure McKinty could sustain that same emotion throughout the story, and for the most part, he pulled it off!

The first Part: Brilliant

The second part: Amazing

The third part: great

Some things in the third part were a bit unnecessary, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment.

When I first started reading, a bunch of people told me that they thought the book was "Alright" not good not bad, and it made me worry because I truly thought that I would love it. Safe to say, that I did.

Let's talk about Rachel; our heroine, for a quick second. Sometimes I was terrified for her and other times I was "terrified" of her.

What would you do when you get a call from a stranger saying that they have kidnapped your child, and say you have to kidnap someone elses child for your child to stay alive, WOULD YOU DO IT?!

Such a terrifying, yet fascinating premise for a book. This is a unique thriller and one that I won’t forget about anytime soon. The second half of the book drug on a little for me but once I understood why it was set up the way it was, the pace picked up again. It didn’t take me long to identify the bad guy once the second part of the book started but it was gratifying to be right in the end.
