I’ve been reading Ken Follett for nearly half a century. THIS is the book that got me started so thought I’d return to my old friend...was not disappointed!

A reread after 22 years. Palate cleanser before jumping into Follett’s historical fiction.

This was one the most enjoyable spy novels/thrillers I’ve ever read. Follett is a master!

I've been meaning to read Ken Follett for years now, but I didn't think I would start with one of his first novels. I am also slightly ashamed to admit I didn't think I would like this, but turns out I love historical spy novels, especially when they are sprinkled with such interesting historical facts. This was fast paced and easy to read, two qualities I have found are particularly engaging to me during this time. I still want to tackle Pillars of the Earth or another of Follett's large and time investing novels, but it's kind of the opposite of what works for me right now!
