Too long. And too complicated. But hidden here is a pretty good story with good characters. The magic system is still good. It's not real clear how Vin does some of what she does later in the book, there could be at least a little more limitations. I would have liked the whole Well of Ascension to be a bit less obscure. Perhaps a little more time on each of the side characters, maybe a few less characters. 3.5 of 5.

I thought this book started off a little slow but it really picked up. I couldn’t put it down in last few hundred pages. I liked that we got to know all the characters so much more in this book. And the ending oof. Excited to see what happens in the next one.

I liked it, not as much as the first one obviously. Brandon is a great author. I like his writing style, his characters and plot, but I felt really bored a lot while reading this book. too much politics for my taste. The book would have been better if it was like 200 pages shorter.
I have hope for the third book to amaze me because many people say it is as good as the first one.

In my opinion The Well of Ascension was leagues better than TFE. Just INSANE.

Sanderson knows how to write a story

Sanderson loves to "ruin" our lives, huh?
