I just... I don't know. This book was definitely unique and different from really anything I've ever read. It's not for everyone, my best friend didn't get into it even though I did.

This book is a quirky little read that took some getting used to. It definitely has a unique voice with a very different... Style might be the right word. It just might not be for everyone. I don't even know how to describe it. It's charming though and if you don't think its too weird, you'll love it.

The relationships in this book... I love platonic relationships. Love them with all my heart. We need a lot more focus on them in the YA genre. And this book was a great representation of it. It was what really made me like the book. Not that I don't love the uniqueness of it too, the platonicness just added to that. The characters were great. Odd, in their own world, lovely.

I also read it at a time where I just knew and could relate and felt the same things as the main character. The end really... I dunno. I suck at reviews.
I loved this book. It broke my heart.

People looking to read this book may want to know that there is a lot of teen drinking in it and not just drinking when the characters go to parties. They also visit bars, order beers, and never get carded (which is completely ridiculous and unbelievable, nor does it serve any purpose in the story).

The relationship between the two main characters, Jonah and Bea, is odd. At the beginning of the book, I liked the fact that it wasn't quite a romance but seemed a little different than a friendship. This feeling was quickly smothered by the character of Jonah. He is a very distant, cold character. His treatment of Bea is never confronted. In fact, Bea remains almost apologetic towards him when he consistently wrongs her and treats her badly. She trusts Jonah completely (and blindly) and it was obvious to me, the reader, that he was absolutely untrustworthy, not only as a character but also as her so-called "friend." This and the drinking (oh, the drinking...) completely ruined what could have been a really good read.

This author shows some promise, so if she ever comes out with anything and should it sound interesting, I may try it. But know that I do not like this story nor is it recommended.

Absolutely beautiful.
I shouldn't have read this so quickly because I still want more. I didn't want to put it down at all and leave Jonah and Bea behind. The characters were frustrating but seemed so real to me. They were the kind of people I would have wanted to know in school but I wouldn't have talked to them and they wouldn't have talked to me. That's just how it is.
The Night Lights radio show was such a great part of the story. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. The calls near the end of the book wrecked me. The whole thing wrecked me actually.
My only complaint is that I wish that I had read this sooner. I could have appreciated it even more a year or two ago but I overlooked it on the assumption that it was just another cheesy romance. It isn't. It's a love story but it's not a romance.

This was suggested by a friend of mine (it’s her favorite book). I don’t know if I appreciated it to the extent that she does, but oh my gosh this book is a work of art. Some of the best friendships are forged in the darkest of times.

Kinda speechless about this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested. It’ll be on my mind for a while.

I wish I had something like the Night Light radio show in my life.
