Nuanced and uncompromising in its portrayal of trauma after discrimination, it still serves as a cute and heartfelt fantasy adventure with lovely character building and a mature narrative.

I’m so grateful that this graphic novel exists so that the movie can exist. The movie is executed better. It was more cohesive, felt more emotional and had higher stakes.

But the characters are still here, still true to themselves and I love them so much <3

-Anti hero
-Disability and mlm rep
-reluctant father figure/found family
-villain vs good guy
-literal chaos goblin

If you love Nimona’s energy, I recommend the book Little Thieves by Margaret Owen.
If you like Nimona and Ballister’s dynamic, watch The Last of Us.

I liked this a lot more than the movie honestly. Lots of gore and violence! I like that this doesn't shy away from getting super dark. Love the art style too.

Absolutely adored the characters; was worried about the plot getting a bit predictable, but my fears were assuaged.

The film is my favorite film of all time, and this was a great graphic novel. It's sadder and more anarchist than the film. A fantastic quick read.

One of the best graphic novels I’ve read, ever. A perfect mix of overturning tropes, goofy friendship/mentorship, and dramatic self realization. So much packed into a kickass sidekick. I love this book.
