Arabella Grimsboro vs. the Wonderful Wizard is parody fiction taking the well-known public domain children's book and inserting a millennial girl, Arabella, into the shoes of Dorothy. Like most people, millennial Dorothy only knows the story through the famous movie. As we follow her story, we discover the differences between the movie and book. Arabella's modern point view is quite jarring since she swears a lot to humorous effect (ymmv), and she observes how creepy, strange, violent, and illogical The Wizard of Oz is for a children's book. The author does succeed in making you laugh, but it's a bit repetitive, highlighting perhaps how weak the original source material is.
