It wasn't all bad, but it definitely wasn't my favorite Star Wars book. It read very YA (unsure if it's supposed to be) and Cal sometimes came off immature and even OOC. The romance aspect was also more tedious than enjoyable. Overall, I was excited to read about Cal, but it was disappointing.
I did like the interactions with the whole Mantis Crew and especially with Greez, which bumped it up a star.

I have mixed feelings about the book! Although I absolutely love the Mantis crew but this did not translate well into story book. I believe it would have served better as a script book. I actually skipped thought words and read dialogue because the “thoughts and emotions” were dragging on for more 2 pages and I didn’t need that. It dragged the story hard. For a minute I thought I was gonna have to DNF book but I pulled through. It helped me to understand what is happening in the Jedi Survivor trailer for sure.
