The ending was very sweet, and made the whole story even sweeter.

“But perhaps the happiest of all is Moomintroll who goes home through the garden with his mother, just as the moon is fading in the dawn, and the trees rustling in the morning breeze which comes up from the sea.

It is autumn in Moomin Valley, for how else can spring come back again?”

Laughed and teared up at this one... Moomin Valley is really a magical, hijinx-filled place as much alive as any of its inhabitants. The world is imaginative, escapist, surreal, and wonderful in equal measure.

"If I had killed myself, of course, it wouldn't have mattered. But imagine if your YOUNG PERSONS had seen me! Now, however, I intend to retire to a deserted spot and live a life of loneliness and peace, giving up everything. I have made up my mind once and for all."

I love the world of the moomins! The last story/chapter in the book was my favorite. It was cool to see each story be unique but have a common thread running through them that got resolved at the end. I love how Tove tuck’s profound ideas in the midst of the simplest sentences. Thingumy and Bob are some of my favorite side characters.
