The amount of hate this was given intrigued me to read it and I must say that this book is absolutely one of King's best novels. The book is very short and can be read in almost one sitting. We follow a girl named Trisha who gets lost in the woods during a family hike. Though this did not scare me that much, it successfully made me imagine a scenario, in which I was lost in the woods. I understand that King's avid readers at the time who were hoping to be scared, disliked this book, but truthfully, the fear in this book is realistic to its core. Had this book been longer, I would have started to gradually dislike it because the book is largely limited to the forest and Trisha. Baseball was the only thing I started to get tired of, but it did not matter for me that much. A very cleverly written book. Also, this book has a great opening line: The world had teeth and it could bite you with them anytime it wanted.
