Festive in Death
3 Stars
Eve and company investigate the murder of a personal trainer with a mean streak. The question arises as to who didn't want the jerk dead.
A solid installment although to be perfectly honest, the victim is such a nasty piece of work that it is difficult to summon up much sympathy for him. The twist at the end is pretty good although it isn't all that surprising.
The Christmas shopping/party scenes are cute and add a festive air to the book.

I love this series and I particularly enjoy the ones based around the holidays, it's interesting to see another side of the characters. I think the series needs another angle to follow now we seem to have explored the childhoods of the main characters. It seems to be drifting along a little now.

These books never disappoints. Book #39 of the series and I still enjoy each and every one of them. The twists and turns in this one were especially exciting, and a little more unpredictable, which I enjoyed.

Another great In Death book. I love the books in the series that have a lot of Peabody in them, so in that respect this is a good one. It also contains a great quote: NO MATTER YOUR RACE, CREED, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR POLITICAL AFFILIATION, WE PROTECT AND SERVE, BECAUSE YOU COULD GET DEAD.

Disappointing. No characters that one was that interested in or cared about. Seemed like it just got all wrapped up quickly at the end a little too easily. I used to really love these books, but the last few have just not had the punch and excitement of the previous ones.
