This was so soft and nerdy! I just wish it was a bit longer because I wanted to spend more time with the characters and explore the escape room concept a bit more.

This was an immensely cute novella about love, talent, and joy between two disabled MCs of color! It was nerdy and hopeful and sweet! I do wish the ending hadn't resolved so quickly, and you can tell this is an aside to a bigger connected series (hence the "Royals" title which doesn't make a lot of sense with only the main couple). But if my biggest problem isĀ wanting moreĀ from an obviously relatively short novella, I think that's a good sign about the quality of what's already here!

This book could have been an amazing full-length novel but it still makes a wonderful novella. Reggie and Gus are likeable characters with diverse lived experiences that makes you love them and root for them throughout the story. The premise is just absurd enough to be perfect for a romance novel, and the author is self-aware of that ridiculousness throughout. The ending felt rushed, but I think that was mainly a result of the length.
