Charged had a lot of suspense and heartache mixed in with the scorching hot sexytimes! Crownover really does know how to bring on the hotness!

Charged had a deeper sense of danger, but also some more fun than Built included. I really enjoyed getting to know Avett better, as I had thought she was simply a spoiled princess, but she was so much more. And she completely brought out the humanity Quaid had tried to get rid of by becoming the most successful defence lawyer in Denver.

Because it started with Avett in prison, because she was charged with having done a hold-up she had no idea was going to happen, the tension between her and Quaid was palpable from the beginning. At first, it was more irritation than chemistry, but that changed rather quickly. Both Quaid and Avett needed someone who could show them that a different way of living might be much more satisfying than what they had been doing up until that point.

The suspense was really well done, and I enjoyed how smart Avett was in Charged - she showed that she was a grown-up who was capable of making tough decisions and sticking with them. Written in dual point of view as the rest of the Saints of Denver series, I loved the banter between Avett and Quaid, as they had strong personalities and both wanted to be right.

This book was awesome. I am glad that the story was different than the other series. I loved the direction this story went and I think it is my favorite so far. I love Quaid and Avett together they are my favorite couple. I love Avett and how complicated she is and how much she cares for the people she loves.

I really enjoyed this story of opposites attracting, and I could easily see why they liked each other. The heroine was impulsive and adventurous but learning to be less reckless, and the regimented hero learned to jump off cliffs once in a while.
A couple of phrases pulled me out of the action in two of the sex scenes, but nothing major. I don't expect to see weeping applied to anything not eyes or wounds, cuz it sounds gross.

I was sooooooooo excited for this book when I read THAT scene in Sayer's POV in [b:Built|25197119|Built (Saints of Denver, #1)|Jay Crownover|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1452356323s/25197119.jpg|44908160]. To say they were intriguing was an understatement.

Quaid Jackson was someone who didn't seem to have a lot of depth in the surface but once we got into his head, I was a goner! I love this man. He was a man who was wronged and wronged.

Then, there's Avett.

I didn't like her in the previous books. She was a young girl who didn't think of the consequences of her actions and was just plain nasty. I never disliked Asa, who was supposed to be her male counterpart in evilness but I never did. Avett though, she's another story.

I really never understood her and I really didn't want to because she was so selfish. But now knowing why she did what she did, OHH MAAANNNNN.

Avett, I love you too!

This book was seriously about polar opposites attracting and it was a sight to see. I loved their progression as individuals and as a couple. I loved seeing Quaid as a loving and caring person since all we saw before this was a hardcore lawyer who defended criminals. Avett really grew on me as a character too.

Jay Crownover's writing keeps getting better and better. I loved seeing some of the originals in this one while others were mentioned. Getting to read little snippets of my favourite marked men is amazing! Thanks again, Jay for a great read.

...Now I have to wait for Honor and Nassir's book..this wait will not be fun.

I'm so sad. I think this is the first book by Jay that I didn't devour or love. It just didn't do it for me.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Review can be found on *Milky Way of Books*

I love everything Jay Crownover writes. The tattoo artwork, the wounded men and women of her books, and the heart-breaking, funny moments too!

In the newest story in the spin-off series, from her "Marked Men", we meet Avett a young woman who has done many mistakes in her life and thinks that everything will never become better for her. When an incident forces her to see her future for the first time, she will change.

And meet Quaid in the proccess.

Frigid, sexy Quaid, a lawyer who has suffered from the expectations of his life and wants to love and feel like he is someone's only one. As he and Avett, meet and learn about each other, the danger around them will become intense.

I loved the cameo appearances of Rome and Asa. Those two are my favorites. There was also the appearance of Church and Wheeler, who also will get their books, I am sure. I am pretty curious to see what will happen in Wheeler's case.

The story was intense and fast with packed emotion and showed how family can be supportive even after the wrong choices and the concequences of their members. Very recommended and I hope to read about the new characters soon!

I knew in the first paragraph this book had the potential to be my favorite book by Jay and it fully lived up to that potential. I loved this book. Quaid is now my favorite of all Jay’s men – Rome included (although he’s my 2nd favorite). For those of you that were sad about the Marked Men series coming to an end, you will love this series if you haven’t tried it yet.

Quaid is everything. He thinks he’s nothing. His childhood was heartbreaking but it made him the man he is today. He hides behind this BS façade that he’s even convinced himself to believe. As Avett uncovers his layers, we find out the amazing man he’s hiding. I loved his reaction to Avett…he was just perfect.

Avett was a bit of a mess and didn’t know how to deal with everything she was feeling. Instead of seeking help, she sought self-destruction and boy did she find it. Her latest path to ruin is farther reaching and more damaging than she ever imagined. As Quaid discovers, she is the perfect storm and he finds he likes being in her path to help stave off some of the destruction.

They are the perfect balance…they help save each other and learn how to live together and I loved watching them learn.

My only tiny complaint about this book is that the narrative was a bit unnecessarily long in places…I did a bit of skimming a few times.

There are a couple of leads to future books in this book…both Wheeler and Church. I can’t wait for the next one!

So, I know it's probably but, I have had the plague for the last five days and I haven't been able to read anything (not even any Riley or ARR books could help me) to get me out of my book rut. Except this but it still left me wanting something.

I did find Avett little annoying but, Crownover did say she's a spoiled brat in the beginning and also reading the books she has been it was to be expected.

Quaid was interesting character to read about. I liked how his life was played through out the book. You'll get why I placed this photo here if you read the book.

I do love Crownover's books. I'm just in a book reading rut.

I have loved everything I have written by this author and this was no exception. Avett was my ideal heroine. She's completely flawed but owns up to it. Quaid was awesome. While the change in him happened a little quicker than seemed natural it was done so well I went along with it. I love that the author is giving us something new while still giving us peaks of the Marked Men.
